your sand

im getting the sand and live rock for my tank tomorrow. just wondering what types of sand you guys use. my lfs has two types, one that is like pure white, extremely fine, just like sugar. the other is a bit more coarse, and kinda beige. is it a matter of preference, or is one better for pods and bacteria then the other?

ok, lets rephrase the question. which sand do you have in your tank, fine very white sand(looks like sugar), or beige more granular sand(looks like lawn fertilizer)?

I think the finer sand is better for filtration. But im not 100%. Mine is almost like sugar.
