how big do zebra lionfish get? I'm not planning on getting one, but I was lookin at fish here n there is like no info on it. Are they not reef safe? or not invert safe?
They can get larger than 7 inches I think. I think more like 12-14 inches. They will not harm corals or anything, but anything living that they can fit in there mouth they will eat for sure. That includes any fish or shrimp I don't think they will eat snails.
You are correct. In the wild, they can reach a maximum of 9-10 inches, but in captivity, they usually max out at around 7-8.
The only invert they will harm is shrimp and soft-shelled crabs (things like pom pom crabs). They will not give snails or hermit crabs a second look.
