Zebra Lionfish...

Ok, I don`t have the money to buy a Porcupine puffer tank. So I now want to buy a Zebra Lionfish. I`ve done my research and found that a 30 gallon will house one Lionfish. (if this is wrong please tell me so) What kind of food, flooring(gravel, sand ect.), rocks, plants, work well with a Zebra Lionfish?
P.S. If you`ve had certain experiences with this animal please post them here.

Make sure you know which one you are getting. A zebra is not allways sold as a zebra. Make sure you have a latin name.
Here's afew lions, a zebra at bottem (just what I had on file).
Fu Manchu Lion (Dendrochirus biocellatus)
Radiata Lion (Pterois radiata)
Volitans (Pterois volitans )
Dwarf ( Pterois sphex )
Two-Bar Lion ( Pterois radiata )
Antennata Lion ( Pterois antennata )
Dwarf Lion (Dendrochirus brachypterus)

Zebra Turkeyfish ( Dendrochirus zebra )
Zebra Turkeyfish, is the most common dwarf
lion is similar in many ways and degrees to
P. antennata and P. sphex. The one sure
distinguishing mark of D. zebra is the
presence of two white spheres on it's
caudal peduncle.
Length: Up to 6 inches long.
Foods: Feeds on meaty foods. Likes to eat live
foods, but frozen silverslides, squid, mussels,
and krill is recommended.
Reef Compatibility: Reef Safe, but eats
small fish.
Water Conditions: Water Temp. 72-79F.
Salinity 27-31ppt
or 1.020-1.023 sg, pH 8.1-8.4.
Does not fare well with fluctuations
in temperature,salinity and pH.
Special Needs: This is a dwarf lionfish,
it can be kept with other lionfish,
and eats small fish that can fit in its mouth.

All depends upon where you got the info from.

I`ve done my research and found that a 30 gallon will house one Lionfish.
Consider the eating habbits.... What goes in, must come out.
Unless you have a super setup, my opinion is " good luck"
Yes you can keep one in a 30, but you may have to do frequent water changes. Lions (my limited experence) love to eat live food, small fish; so that will be the only fish that the tank may be able to handle.
Also, little known fact: You can actually kill a lion by overfeeding it.

I got my facts from Drs. Foster and Smith they are both highly trainted veternarians and biologists. So I think what they said is true. I do have a pretty good set up. I`ve got everthing needed for a saltwater aquarium.
