Any tips on feeding keeping or funky quirks on these guys? I bought one and just trying to see what differs from what the books say.

What size tank is it in and what are the other inhabitants? Zebra's are more passive than most eels, and might not get proper amounts of food if not stick fed. Feed all meaty foods - krill, shrimp, clams, silversides, etc. Make sure the tank is covered. Bo

Its a 70 gallon. I have a Niger Trigger a really mean cinnamon clown who is pretty good sized and a porcupine puffer(which I am gonna sell back to the store cause he is to much competition for food with the eel.) I have a heavy glass top that covers the whole tank. any Recomendations on how to get him to eat? They fed him at the store today so I haven't even attempted it yet . Just lookin for pointers.

People tell me its hard to get them to start eating. I have had mine about three days. Tried feeding him today. No go. My guestion is: You are supposed to nudge them on the nose with the food. That would be great other then the fact that they like to be reclusive and completely hidden. So How do I go about feeding a hidden mouth ( so to say). They have had him at my lfs for about two months and have been feeding him silver sides every other day (that is what I tried today.
