zeolite filter

Has nayone used zeolite for filtration. I was discussing this with a company im invested with, and they have a product which is zeolite and calcium carbonate. He claims that it will absorb ammonia and phsphates, and can be used in FW setups. He was unsure whether it would be affected by SW.
Any Ideas

Ask a shark, I swear I asked the same ? a few years back and that was the response I got (do a search) Next, anything you use will and would remove some good and some bad. I use carbon and rowaphos phosphate removerin my system. I also believe zeo is for removing ammonia, could be wrong. Anyway, you should have no ammonia in your tank, so it should only be used in an emergency. I'm trying to get my system as natural as possible. I haven't ran any carbon in 4 months, then my xenia seemed stressed. I'll check on zeo and get back

Here is the scoop-de-loop. Zeolite removers the ammonia, phosphate and else by absorbtion or ion exchange(in freshwater) When it is placed in saltwater the ions relesss exchanging back for sodium ions in the water, therefore it is no use for ion exchange in saltwater(sodium will just bond to it) It would probably be able to trap particles and such, but you pay for your salt so why remove it. I read the same thing on three sites( just their .02)Found my zeolite, unused, knew I had some:joy:
