a 50 gallon sunmp
Aqua-C EV-180 skimmer
Rainbow Lifeguard UV Sterilizer
1/4 hp chiller
Korallin 1502 Reactor
Sequence Reefflo Barracuda as a return pump (throttled back)
Last time I tested calcium was about 370 - still trying to raise it since adding reactor
Alk was a bit low, can't remember the levels
That is all I test on a regular basis,
Use instant ocean salt and do water changes less frequently than I used to lately the tank has been a bit neglected as the room the equipment is in is being sheetrocked and finished.
Tank is currently 5 months old, had been in a 90 and has undergone many equipment changes and moves in teh last year due to construction.

could be a bad batch of salt. i doubt it, but you never know. IO is cheap, maybe cheaply made....
well i changed to Oceanic and i've seen the difference in my corals. they are doing well, zoos are reproducing well.

I have been battling this problem for quite a while as well. I noticed in the top pic the dark red algae on the left. I also have this growing on my zoas. First I thought it was cyano, but it doesn't brush off like that does. I thought maybe it was coralline, but it is not really flakey like that and it was actually growing up the stalk of some zoas. Is it possibly a type of fungus? I haven't noticed any sundials or anything.

Don't throw them out send them to reefers as a seed I would even guess a few of us would be willing to pay shipping
