I've had to get rid of one of my zoa colonies from what I could only diagnose as zoa pox. I wasn't sure if it is contageous so I chucked it as I don't have my hospital set up. Sunday I noticed that my other colony of zoas weren't quite as full and a few polyps were either closed or not fully open. Literally it looks as if there are some holes in my colony and I can now see the rock that they are attached to. I've been basting them daily and changed my flow around and nothing seems to be changing. My levels are as they always are all zeros but I'm also experiencing some type of nutrient bloom as I have Serpulid Polychaetes and for the first time as of a few weeks ago a bunch of q-tip sponges. My GSP has some red hairs that stand on end measuring about 1/4" that don't brush off easily and don't baste off well either. I have a ton of flow as you know. Can't figure it out either. I haven't run any carbon in a long time but I'm going to after tonights water change. Shootist said he was unsuccessful with furan-2 but others on other forums have had positive results. I dunno.
