I put 4 different typs of zoos in my tank about a month ago & about 1/4 of them have disappeared. PH 8.0, Trates 25 by a salifert test kit, trites 0, salt 1.025, cal 420, alk 15.4 ( I know , to high ),& temp 79.3. Why would they disappear/

I can't believe it, but maybe I need to. I have the same problem in that my "rainbow polyp rock" is all closed up. I thought there might be something chemically wrong, like I just had to use the slime control twice since I got the rock several months ago, but since you said this about the sundial snail, whoa, I noticed one that's had it's foot buried in the polyps for a while now, didn't think anything of it. How does it damage the polyps? Does it just eat the smaller ones, forcing the larger ones to stay closed up?

Eventually if left alone it or they can do some serious damage
. Most zoa polyps stay connected to each other and if one is getting bothered the whole colony gets affected/bothered and closes up. Get rid of the snail asap

You might want to look closer. I was moving my zoos around and found this horrible creature that I think is a zoanthid spider. Check out the thread that I recently started about it. Beth has posted some pictures. I hope you don't have these little buggers. I think I do and boy are they hard to kill.

I don't quite know what we are all going to do. This seems like some kind of epidemic. There has to be some predator of these things. I saw a website that said there was some kind of nudi that ate them but it seems that no one knows how to get them. Any help out there?

Don't know what to do. I read some website that there is a nudi that eats them. No one seems to know where to get them though. I wonder if arrow crabs or something might eat them? Any help/thoughts out there?
