    Proper Flow?

No way. If a fish gets sucked into one of these it was dead or dying before it was sucked in. A healthy fish can easily swim away.

    Proper Flow?

Get two Sure Flow Maxijet mods for your two Maxijet 1200s. It will boost each one from 295 GPH to 2100 GPH. Then you'll have some sick flow.

    Please Help VERY FRUSTRATED

How old is your RO unit filters? They may be bad and you're dumping nutrients into your tank. What is the TDS (total dissolved solids) of your RO water?

    Polyp Extension on Acropora millepora

Wow! Nice blue! I have a nice 6" stalk of blue that is finally starting to branch out. I forgot to change my location: I moved to Danville, PA a year ago. I go down to Philadelphia occasionally to visit friends, maybe we can still trade some time. I wouldn't mind having a back-up frag of...

How to get palythoa's to spread faster?

You can feed them every day if you want. They will eat anything your fish will eat and will grow like gangbusters.

My 175 Gallon DT, 105 Gallon Refugium

The bioballs will be a huge problem down the road and flushing them won't do anything. If crashing water is problem, get Durso standpipes in the overflows or simply down size your sump return pump so that the overflows don't handle as much GPH.

What light bulb brand do you recommend?

Phoenix 14,000 K is really nice and I also like 20,000 K XM and 20,000 K Radium. I prefer a "blue" look though. The nice part about the lamps above is they can be fired with no actinics and the corals still look great.

    Should I Eliminate this Sponge?

It is harmless, just let it go. I have the same type of sponge growing in several different places in my tank and it has caused no harm.

    Tang question

It takes one year for a 1.5" Hippo to reach 7-8" and as mentioned previously, fully mature, they are 12"+. They should not be placed in anything smaller than a six foot tank: minimum. They get too friggin' big, too fast, swim way too much, and putting these fish in anything less than that is...

    Lighting OVER KILL???

Metal halides and T5s with individual reflectors penetrate the best for what is available to aquarists.

    Lighting OVER KILL???

That is OK lighting for that tank. Watts per gallon is meaningless. It is all about appropriate light intensity for the given depth of water you are trying to light. A 55 gal. tank is too high to be lit efficiently enough for any SPS or clams unless the lights are 1" from the water's surface and...

    hitchiker ID confirmation

That is some type of worm, not a sea cucumber. I don't know for certain, but by the looks of it I would consider it predatory.
