Mixed reef. Light is 250x3 MH and then 8 t5's. So I should have plenty. I was hoping to do closed loop.
Sump is a 75 gallons, skimmer is aqua euro 400, which will be in sump obviously. Still trying to figure out the size of the return area and size of fuge, also amount of baffles. I planned on...

Was hoping to find something a bit more energy efficient. Is there such a pump that would be suitable for my type of set up?

Internal. Wouldnt that be best way to go ? I need something efficient and fairly quiet. I have heard Tunzes are both of those, so was hoping to go that route. I need enough flow...

Bonus, I have 2 inch pipe sticks already and was planning on it. Then thought maybe to much so I would be buying inch and half.
Any pump suggestions be great.

Ok doing a DIY overflow on my 225. The pvc style. Would like one on each end, would 1 1/2" be big enough or would I want 2". Sump is to be a DIY in my 75 gal. Looking for a return pump with good flow. Have shopped around and decided on a Tunze, just need a recomendation on size.
Got light and...
Has anyone tried to mold the stuff around say a cardboard box. I am thinking of doing say a volcano shape. Leave center hollow. Would like to hide a DIY overflow inside of it.
Anyone had any luck or would it just cave and crash ?
Jeff
If I remember right long ago I seen few threads and cant find any. I am planning on doing a DIY overflow on my tank, and to hide the pipe and thinking of doing a rock "volcano" to hide all the pipe. If anyone has any good links to DIY rock or advice, please post it.

Thinking drilling bottom not back. Closer to wall for me is better. A wide overflow with 3 drain holes I am thinking.
Anyone have any suggestions ?

Spoke with MarineLand aka Perfecto and the tank is NOT tempered. The 220 that I have, the 265 and all others smaller that they sell are NOT tempered. The only tank they have that has tempered anything, is a 150, and its the bottom plate.
So now back to a DIY or having it drilled. Already called...
Thanks guys. I am calling Marineland today, just to check. As for the looks of the thing. I dont see it being to bad, I actually like the look of a single pipe or two over the box of an overflow. Plan would be using black sprinkler pipe and then painting back of tank black. They would blend in...
