    Water Changes

It always depends on your bioload and what, if any, kind of corals you have. I do a 20 gallon WC on my 90 gal every other week. On my 14 gal biocube I do 3 gallons every week. I never register nitrates.....ever. If I added more on my bioload I might have to go weekly on my 90 gal or increase the...

    Coraline algae

Use a good quality salt mix and do either 10% weekly or 20% bi-weekly water changes. Unless you have tons of element demanding LPS and SPS corals you will get what you need through regular frequent water changes. I use Aquavitro Salinity salt and the levels stay constant because of my water...

I know I might get some hate for this but one of my friends gave me his Niger trigger

Like we said.....if he is small he should be fine for now, but eventually he will get big. One of my LFS always tell me things like that too that I can add tons of fish in my 90g and like 5 or 6 fish in my sons 14g Biocube. I know better though. I only have 2 clowns in my sons Biocube....I may...

    Being green

Thats the truth. Typing this from my old Samsung Galaxy S4........not broken, still, works because I take care of it. (I did accidentally break my wifes old S4....got her a new S6....she was mad).

Wait and see what happens when one steps over the line. It might be bloods versus crips at some point.

On that www.***********.com site they have a compatability chart. That would be a good place to look and see which fish are compatable with other fish. It even has inverts on there too.

    Large Reef Tank - Pre Build Advice - 150 G to 200 G

My 90g system with everything including livestock and ro/di, brute trash cans for water changes...everything, cost me over $6000.00 so far. I cant imagine the cost of setting up a 200g.

On my 90g I have a Reef Octopus Classic 150INT....I thin I paid about $260 for it. It does a good job skimming. Right now I dont have a big bioload, but I imagine if you had a skimmer your tank and fish would be happy.

I think they are talking about big skinmers and filtration eqpt. If you feed a lot that will keep your bioload elevated and you would need a higher end skimmer and frequent water changes to export the nitrates.

Bigger and better skimmers will allow you to skim more yes, but that only has to deal with the bioload of the fish and not the length. What good is a fish if it will stress and die if you keep it in the wrong size tank? It seems like you are dead set on finding someone who will tell you "yes...

    help with id

I would say ribbon worm. I read that there are over 1000 kinds of them. I also read that they can latch on fish and that cant be good. If it was in my tank.....I would take a lot of pictures snd then maybe toss it in a container and see if your LFS can positively identify it. I also read that if...

    Hammer Coral

Need to make sure your water temp is good along with SG/salinity. You have listed all of the other numbers, but SG is important too. What brand of salt do you use? It could be that your salt mix brand has inconsistancies in it or it could have been a bad batch. Just another angle to look at.

The sump does add water volume, but they still have only a 55g to swim in. The sump helps with nitrate reduction if you setup a refugium properly. You can, and probably should, add a skimmer in the sump. To me, the skimmer is a must in any marine tank. Dont go cheap on a skimmer....get a good...
