    Might have jumped the gun?

If you're going to scrap the first attempt anyway, I would add the dry aragonite sand to that water and remove any excess dust from adding the sand when you drain most of it.

    glass anemone question

I have one aipstasia(sp?). I squirted it with super hot water twice yesterday, but it seems to be back(irritating my new coral). Does anyone know how many applications are necessary to the little jerk? I'd rather not use joes juice or kalkwasser if I can help it. If hot water won't work, I...

    Sand is to fine

How well did you rinse sand? I bought a cheap hob filter(biowheel type) and stirred up the sand regularly during the cycle. The next morning, I just rinsed out the filters or replaced. Now MUCH less cloudiness even if sand is disturbed.

lights on or off when introducing corals.

Well since almost 1/2 of the buttons have opened, I'm guessing they like the lights off for now? I still wonder if I should trun the ligh above it on for an hour or so to acclimate it to the intensity(though it is toward the bottom of a 75g under a 150 watt mh).

    Sweet purple/pink palys

I wanna know what kind of camera you are using. What settings, in general, do you use to get such great pics?

lights on or off when introducing corals.

Obviously these are my first corals. Zoo's here today, rics here tomorrow! Should I turn the lights off as with fish, or is the light beneficial while stressed? I could also turn one set on for a hour before nighttime if that may help acclimate them to the light.

Any last min advice for me?

I'm getting my first corals ever tomorrow!! I ordered 4 green ric polyps. Anyone with good experience with this type have any last minute advice for their care? My 75 gallon tank is 7 weeks old. It has had 4 turbos, 4 cerith and 1 nassarius snails, and 4 yellow tip hermits for about 3...

    water spouts......

I also had that problem with the larger prop. When I changed to the medium flow propeller, everything worked great. I'm not sure how much flow is lost but even the mediums seem to move a lot of water.

    Bubbles?

Too much bioload to add at one time?

IMHO, too much. I would just add the cleaning crew and see how they do for at least 2 weeks. But I'm new and in favor of practicing patience with my ecosystem.

    Brand spankin' new, what next?

First, I would look into both the damsels and the gobies as first fish choices. Damsels are notoriusly aggressive and fast. Some species are more docile though. Look at chromis type damsels if you want them. Gobies, I've read, have eating requirements that are better suited for a larger...

Is this too much to add?

It's rather ugly at the moment. My cuc annihilated my diatom bloom so I increased my light cycle. Guess what happened. Algae blooms. At least there is more green than brown this time. My tank is a 75g with 120 lbs live rock and a dsb. I have two 150 watt mh pendants. I'm only running a...

    Few Newby Q's

Do you want a deep sand bed? If so, 60 lbs of sand wont do it. I used 100 lbs of sand and I have a significant portion of base rock underneath the sand level. I also technically didn't use "live sand". I just bought aragonite sand. You can use live sand(or 1/4 live sand and 3/4 arag sand)...

Is this too much to add?

My 75g has been up for 6 weeks. Water parameters are perfect so far. I added 4 large turbos, 4 yellow tip hermits, a nassarius snail, and 4 cerrith snails about two weeks ago. Nitrates still at 0 and tank is doing great! If I add 10 blue leg hermits, 10 nassarius snails, a small brittle...
