I have not treated it for algae. I was just concerned about my CC going all brown. Looks dirty.

I have a power head aimed at the front glass. I do use a Baster during water changes and my temp is around 82. The brown algae is collecting on the CC an the glass. I have to clean the glass daily now because of it.

Are they safe? Should I try and remove them or let them build up?

Found these today while cleaning my fluval 304 canister. These are all over the inside and are hard to remove.

I have fluval carbon bags in the canister.

Tank is 6 months old, I use RO water and top off with RO water.

So iv read that Phos should be zero in most cases, but acrylic51 your saying that there should be a little? I am battling Phos right now, a reading of 1.0-2.0. What is a reasonable reading if there was to be some present in the tank?

Ok thanks, I actually didn't change any media this time. I just did a water change and checked the impeller on my filter to see what it was for replacement. This might be a silly question, when you attend to a canister filter and change what ever you changing, do you discard the existing water...

I will take a sample up today. I was told by my lfs that using cycle for regular maintenance would be good, as well as when I do media changes.
