Ryan, What I do with shrooms is, lop off the head... cut it into four pieces like a pie... then I lay the pieces on a new live rock and cover them with bridal vail until they attach... I have found that once you have fragged a shroom and it has grown, it will split more often on its own... Also...

The tanks test out the same.... PC's are 64 watts... the VHO's are 320 watts .... The toadstool has been very happy in the 35 hex... But has crouded the tank...

I have a toadstool leather that has gotten way to large for my 35 hex... I want to move it to my 55... the hex has pc lighting , the 55 has vho... will the move be ok ? How long should the intrduction into the new tank be...

Anthony, My Xenia are in the upper regins of both my display tank and my propigation tank... I have found the more light you give them the faster they grow... Also I keep high current on them... Iodine is also a must , if you want them to split and grow well... My temp is 78-79 deg...

Bob, Thanks for the advice... I didn't say they wern't pulsing , just not as much... Also my Nitrates are 5-10 always have been .... When I say reaching out for other rocks, I mean sprouting off the sides and grabbing on to them... I also didn't add Iodine to help them beacause they wern't doing...

Over the past couple of days my Xenia has been going crazy... First 2 of the stalks were laying down or bent over ... Now they are standing upright , but are much bigger and more branched out.... Also they are reacing out and grabbing other rocks... Is this the normal process of splitting? Or...

Cotton, I do a water change of 10-15% every two weeks...It is a good idea to get on a schedule of water changes and test , at least until your system has matured... Trace elements are the thing you want to replenish, a fish only tank wont use them up as fast, but it's still a good idea to do...

AMX, First off I would try and add some more live rock if you have the funds for it...Maybe 10lbs or so... This will help your tank with it's filteration... As far as the crew goes you have a pretty good plan... I would only get the one Emerald Crab if I were you... And remember he will need...

I liked the look of some of my Aptasia as well, but getting one of my corals stung by one is a chance I didn't think was worth taking... I blasted mine with turbo calcium mixed with water, 5 cc in a syringe... Stick it right in the middle of the Aptasia , and say bye bye!!!!
