Ok, I just changed my lights the old light had two moon lights the new dose not. A week went by and my mandarin fish lost some weight. So I retrofit some moon lights and he looks like he is gaining the weight back. What do you think was it the moon lights?

Maybe it helped him hunt at night?
I don't have moonlights and mine seems rather well off, so I dunno...

I did read somewhere that they hunt at dusk and again in am at first light. They seem to hide during the brigest part of the day. So It makes sense that he could hunt down those tricky pods with the aid of the moonlight. Remove the light and if becomes harder to find them.
