No, only if you move the fish to QT to treat with antibiotics. Lights should remain off (with room light available) with antibiotic treatment since UV degrades antibiotics. You are doing fresh garlic? Now, if the fish is stressed, then some reduction in lights might help.

Swims around some, color is still good and no other signs of stress. Target feeding him twice a day with garlic soaked shrimp, clams and silversides

almost a week now. Checked water params again last night and salinity was higher than before. Doing slow small water changes every other hour trying to bring down slowly. Salinity was 1.028

I have a hydrometer and thought might have been reading wrong. Took a sample to lfs and he used his refractometer and got same reading.

Time to order a refractometer anyways

Is it a swingarm hydrometer? If so, I would not trust that at all. Better to use a glass hydrometer.

Yeah it is but did take a sample to lfs for confrimation with his refractometer.

Any recommendations of a good refractometer? Shopping online now for one
