YES, I know it is about my FW fish....BUT all the same I'm postin it....My Large orange cichlid is dieing :( It is about 7" long, and I have had it many years....It is in the 46G corner octo tank with another small cichlid (2 1/2") and a sardontis, and a plescostamus
It has not been acting right the last week, so I knew something was wrong....No signs of disease or anything like that.....I think its time is just up

SOOOOO...It looks like my decision has been made. I have been thinking about doing this for a while now anyway.....I have 2 small 3" blue cichlids in the 16G bowfront....SOOOOO after I do a good waterchange and filter change of the 46G....these 2 will be moved to the 46G and the 16G will be torn down sighhhhhh....I will decide at a future time what to do with the 16G
HMMMMMM...Mantis....LOL.....or just tank retirement and keep in a closet

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about the cichlid.
I know that uncertainty you're talking about regarding the tank. I have a 45g in "retirement" out in the garage - don't want to get rid of it, but don't want to do anything with it right now either. I've seen those 16g bowfronts at petstores, and they always look like fun little setups. Seems you ought to be able to do SOMEthing with it. How 'bout a softie-dominated nano, with a royal gramma and a firefish in it?

I would make it my hospital tank instead of the 5g and retire the 5g. Just my .02

I hear ya Meowzer, I just lost my large albino tiger oscar. I've had him for quite a while too. I've got some other cichlids in my 29, but I've been tossing around the idea of turning it into a saltwater for a couple of my clowns...it's just talking my husband into it. I had already told him I would sell it to get my 125...we'll see.
