calcium and phosephate reactors?

Need?
No... If parameters are in check with water changes, good salt, etc. Even if they're not, you can dose, but a Ca reactor is more efficient/effective than dosing manually.
I happen to run both and have been very happy with the results. They're like safe guards for me.

I have found it to be more cost effective than dosing with liquid 2 part (Ca and Alk).
sorry to steal your thread but btl, what cal reactor are you using?
I believe it's an MRC - 1 ... my husband is sleeping and he knows exactly which one we have, but I'm almost positive it's the MRC-1

I bought it used from someone in my reef club leaving the hobby. So I only paid $200 for the reactor, a brand new regulator, brand new bubble counter, full container of granules and a full Co2 bottle.

I have to agree with BLTDreef......Once your levels are in order addition of a reactor is easy and there to maintain....and depending on size of setup; reactors are more economical and easier to utilize.
