Caulerpa, which kind is best?

So, with all the verities of Macro Allege out there is one better then the other when it comes to filtration ie.removing nitrates? Are the thicker caulerpas just as good as the thin fan caulerpas? Have any studies been done on what caulerpa gives back the best return on filtration(nitrate consumption, growth rate ex.) and is there species that you should avoid?
In my tank I have a thick kind of species but I don't know what it's name is. All that I know is my Tangs will not eat it ;) .

I like the razor type. It doesn't reproduce all over your tank and is easy to control. As far as reducing nitrates, it is supposed to help although i probably don't have enough in my tank to see any difference. I keep it in my tank because i think it loos nice.
