Hi I live in Cincy Ohio and I was wondering what pet stores everyone here in Cincy goes to. My personal favorite is Just About Fish. But i also go to jacks aquarium and pets. By the way are there any other 12 year olds on this board. I was just wondering cuz i am 12 and it is SUPER hard to make money for this hobby. ~RYAN~

Hey Ryan,
I'm in Cinci too...I would suggest not going to Jack's aquarium for any fish. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but they really don't do a huge saltwater business and no one in there really knows very much. For equipment or food it's a fine place. I would not go there for any fish.
Just about fish in Montgomery is a great place and also wetpets down off of colerain is a good place. He is very knowledgable and will help you out quite a bit. Some people don't like him cuz he's a little "cranky" but he really does know his stuff.

there is a place in turfway ky. 20 min. south of cincy. called world of pets it is small but has some cool stuff.

World of pets in Florence is good, Just about Fish in Montgomery is good, Aquatic and Exotics in North College Hill is good, Jack's Aquarium and Pets are ok but it all depends on which one you go to...

Hello cinci!
I to live in downtown Cincinnati. In the last several years I have been to just about every fish store in the cinci aria.
Just About Fish is a great store with very knolagable people working there, good supply of quality products. There fish are healthy and they have fair prices.
World of Pets is a small shop that has lots of nice fish and inverts. I have never purchased anything from then but my GF has and she had good luck with several guppies.
House of Tropicals by far the largest fish store in Cincinnait. It may seem shady but the people that own it are good fokes. I buy most of my equiptment from them. They can order things in but it can take time. He has the largest selection of LR in Cincinnati (that good because I like to pick through LR). His fish a healthy and well fed. Every body that has a fish tank should go down and just check it out.
Something Fishy was a great fish only store when it was located between Mt Repose. They moved to Milford by the DMV and began to sell and work on computers. I think they are in a rebuilding process and if it ever gets back to how it once was it will be a great store again.
Jacks can be good depending on witch one you go to. The Eastgate one I will not even walk into. They have very sick fish all the time. The one in Dillinvil was very bad for a long time but has turned it self around in the last 6 months or so. The on Fields Eartle (SP?) seems to be ok.
Wet Pets is a nice store. Nick (the owner) is crabby, and if you are a good looking female and give him a sheepish look you get a discount. I was there several months ago and he had loads of dead or dieing fish witch I did not like. I have gotten water from there before and he treats with copper so watch out.
PetLand in Beachmont I know a guy on the inside and he can usualy order stuff for me at a fair price.

If you want the best info around Cincy go talk to Jason at Aquatics & Exotics on Hamilton Ave. He is the owner of the store and also a really nice guy and will sit down and talk to you about fish care, setup, and maintanence. Top notch place!!
