I have a clown fish for approx. 2 months. It has been healthy with no problems. Yesterday I noticed it didnt want to eat and was not swimming right. Today I woke up and there Is a white long string like thing hanging out where I would belive it relieves it self or its openinng down there. Its About 1" long and the fish is about 2" long. What is going on here?
I did some research and some say just change the diet. Some say its parasites and need to be in QT and treated. How do I know?
And If I place her in Qt what meds do i use to treat it?
Does the other clown that she hangs out with go to qt to be treated also?
Do I need to do something in my display tank?

What were you feeding this clown? What do you mean that she wasn't swimming right? How was she behaving? Don't drop the fish into a QT with meds for what is very likely a large defication. Parasitic worms are small and are seen on the body. If this is a parasite then it is darn long and you would have spotted it in the tank long before it got a chance to attatch to your fish.
