Clowns ate my shrimp

I had just put a peppermint shrimp in my tank and turned the lights off. I came back maybe an hour later and my 2 clown fish were eating him. UGH!!!!!!!
Is the a shrimp I can put in my tank with the clowns? I didn't reliaze clowns did that. I feel so awful for that poor shrimp.

Are you sure it wasn't a molt?
Or maybe the shrimp died before the fish started eating it.

My clown completely ignores my shrimp. The shrimp try to entice him to come of for a cleaninng but they get the cold shoulder.

The only shrimp that my clowns ate was the sexy shrimp. They are cute little shrimp and clowns have a hay day with them. Don't put these into your tank.
I have never heard of clowns eating a peppermint shrimp though. As suggested do look to see if it was not their molt they were eating and the shrimp might be hiding for a few days.
What kind of clowns are they?
What other fish are in this tank?

My clowns (gold striped maroons) pestered the living daylights out of a peppermint shrimp...apparently it made a nice moving target.
