crab caught

last week i posted about a crab i noticed that i never saw before and ate a couple of my fish heres a pic if anyone can identify

Yikes!! That thing looks big! I found this link....maybe it's a Xanthid species crab? Check out this link and see if that's what yours looks like!

Glad you were able to catch it! I was wondering how this would turn out? How did you get him?

i used a fluted glass jar on friday night put some frozen minnows in and next morning 5 hermits 2 emeralds and this big guy were in there so i took it out and put it in my refugium for now figured hopefully he cant harm anything in there. just glad didnt have to tear down tank

i do believe so the eyes almost resemble the porcelin crab on that link but evrything else looks xanthid

That is one big crab!!!! How did you get him without noticing???

he must have been in rock for years cause i have not bought live rock in at least 3 years

its actua;;y pretty cool looking so hes hangin in my fuge and moving the small pieces of rock around go figure
