de-ionized water question

Every-one talks about using RO water which I do.My question is can you use just DI water? I am in the process of getting a home RO unit but was thinking that I could get a complete DI fitration system for the entire house to run from. So if I could use just DI water in my tank then the whole family would benefit......

You do not want DI water in your whole house. Since there are no ions, hence the deionized name, the water wants to pick ions up. Especially copper. The water will eat away at your pipes. The DI water will then be contaminated with copper, which you don't want in your reef.
RO water in the pipes is okay, just not DI.
