I woke up today to find 2 dead fish in my tank. So I did a water test and everything tested out ok but I discovered a dead anemone and horseshoe that smelled horrible when i took them out do you guys think this is the cause for my two dead fish?
What do you guys suggest? Thanks ahead of time.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think that when anemones die they release toxins into the tank and that is probably the cause of your dead fish.

I don't think a normal anemone will release toxins upon death per say, such as some cucumbers, but yes, if anything is dead in the tank and you didn't catch it immediately, then expect ammonia levels to rise, which, depending upon the size of the tank, can equal dead fish quickly.

I was reading on another thread where people were talking about a yellow anemone that it could be dyed. Mine was amazing looking and seemed so natural I found a picture of one here online.
When I saw it at the LFS I had to have it have you guys seen these before? Dyed? Do people actually do this?

I have heard of this, but I don't have knowlege in this area. I wouldn't think that that would be a good thing though.
