Emerald Crab turing white

My emerald crab is starting to turn white. He is very active and always out picking through the sand on picking at the rock. He seems very active and healthy. Is he beginning the molting process? Or is he getting sick?

I had the same thing happen to two of mine, and they both died in a couple of hours.

Sounds like he's molting to me. Happens to my emeralds every once in a while. As a matter of fact, my small emerald is whitish right now. I bet, with 2 days, I'll have an empty shell on the bottom of my tank!

well it started as a small spot on top of him and now covers his back. This process has taken 3 days so far.
I have read several things on the net and they all seem to point to a molt.
