Hello, I'm designing my 29G fuge that is going to be used on a 65G and I have a few questions about the dimentions of the skimmer. I know the footprint is 9X9 but am I correct in thinking that the area it takes up about 1/4-all the way up on the skimmer is much less than 9X9. I'm going to put it in an area of (9.5X12) and I want to beable to also fit a heater and the flextube comfortably in with it.

The 9X9 is just where the pump is, the rest is just the 5" diameter acrylic tube. Leave adequate space around the skimmer to remove the pump for cleaning.

The more the better but I probably only have 3-4in to remove the pump but its kinda a pain to get out. Another thing is to be able to access the skimmer, its hard with mine because my stand makes it hard to work on the skimmer and other things in the sump.
