External Filter Question

What is the best type of external filter to buy? Is it a Magum 350? I need soemthing that does not hang on the back of my tank. I cannot use a sump pump. I need some type of cannister filter ( I assume). I already have a protien skimmer, and 2 Emperpor 280's, but they take up the back side of my tank, therefore, the Emperor's need to be replaced with something that can be placed on the floor. Please advise.

there are several different canisters to chose from like fluval, rena filstar, magnum, and ehiem to name a few. any of these will work and many people have had good or bad experiences from each. no matter which one you choose just remember to rinse the sponges with used tank water during every water change and i recommend replacing one of the sponges once per week. this will help keep nitrates from accumilating in your filter.
