Goby Jumped! Suggestions...

My Diamond Goby jumped the tank last night and died! I had the top open, and I didn't think he would jump when the room was completely dark. I was wrong. Any suggestions for a goby that cleans well but doesn't stir the sand too much?
I want to add a Spotted Mandarin soon.
Thanks

Unfortunately, that is what Goby's do. They clean and move sand and create 'art' with your sand bed.

My yellow watchmen gobies sift very little sand and don't make much of a mess when they do. I've had all sorts of gobies, golden head sleepers, diamonds, dragons, the dragon sifted the best, but they do create a snow storm. The yellow watchmen sift just enough, and stay on the bottom so you don't have a blizzard in your tank.

My Yellow Watchmen Goby is literally my favorite fish in my tank. He loves to be seen. I've taught him to do tricks, he does summersaults for a shrimp.
I was also warned when I bought him that gobies like to jump. I kept a screen over my tank for a while, but didn't like how it looked so I took it off and had a stern talking to with the goby outlining the rule of the tank, NO JUMPING
. He is a great listerner.
As for sifting sand, he will scoop up a bite when it has algae on it, but other than that he left all the digging to the pistol shrimp.

My Orange-Spotted Goby did the same thing....but he jumped right through the eggcrate
Some fish are too smart for there own good, Mine got lost in the tank dig/dug in somewhere ,it could not jump out (egg creat and canopy).
Have fire fish too, but they are not tring to escape.
I am going to try a Orange-Spotted Goby again in a month or soo, just keep learning i guess.
Good luck.
