got my son a tank

So I got my son a 12 gallon jbj for his birthday. I have had tanks for years but never a nano. Any tips or things I should know? What upgrades are important?

Crashes come easier in nanos since its a smaller system with low water volume.

I have a 10G, 16G, 28G, 29G, 54G and 225G
I have no problems with the smaller tanks......the 10Gallon I top off a little every few days......do water changes periodically...and that is it....LOL

Smaller tanks are easier with many frequent small water changes.
12 gallons can be difficult if you overstock it. So, pick your livestock list very, very carefully.
