I have had my tank up for about 1 year now. When I got home from work tonight there was a Seven legged Starfish on my front glass. Is this a good one or a bad one? It is white 3 of the leggs are bigger than the rest. I had a serpent sar in the tank at one time but he pasted away about 3months ago. Please help.

asterina or brittle star. Mostlikely a good one.

is it stocky or does it have the same resemblence of the serpent??

I would have to asterina star from the description. there are good and bad ones so youll have to watch it and see most of them that get in our tanks are good guys though.

like mike said, the have a bad rap for their proliferate vegetively characteristics, but for the most part they're algeal and detrius feeders.. However it has been reported that some species may feast on polyps while others on coraline..
