Help with Banghii cardinal please

I tried searching for help but the search engine is not working right or something, so forgive me in advance. My problem is with banghii cardinals in general, but today my newest one was lying sideways on the sand when I turned on the lights. An attempt to net him got him right side up and swimming, but I noticed that his eye that had been on the sand was very swollen. No cloudiness, no redness just bigger than the other. This fish is eating well, and untill last night seemed ok. Last night before the lights went out, it kept going to the bottom and lying over, sorta sideways. I am stumped! My other fish are all fine. Including the other banghii. Water params:
pH 8.2, SG 1.024, trates trites and amm. all 0, CA is at 450. I keep the tank at 78 and steady. I did loose my CBS yesterday, I think he was unable to molt for some reason. Please help, this is very frusterating! Oh, 1 other thing that may help.. I bought this fish 3 weeks ago with another that died a week after it was added. No heavy breathing, spots or messed up scales.
Sorry about the length, just trying to cover everything.
Thanks,
cyn

Are you quarantining fish before putting them in your tank?? Is there harrassment going on in the tank that you haven't noticed?

Yes, I did QT the fish.. No, no harrasment either. The other banghii is FINE!
As I posted, the water is testing fine and all of my other fish are well. I only posted here looking for help because I am stumped as to what happened. That is past tense because he passed this AM about 2 hours after I posted. I moved him into the QT tank and was hoping to get info on how to save him.
I hate the idea of loosing anything and would love to know what happened so I can prevent/cure it if/when it happens again.

CYN:
a few thngs, 1)- its spelled banggai cardinal fish not banghaii. I tell you this not to correct your spelling but to assist you in doing a proper serch.
2)-the fish had popeye but most likely it was secondary to what killed it, since you mentioned it was lying on its side did you notice heavily gilling(breathing?) as well?
What have you done to your tank recently? heavy cleaning? add new salt water? mess around w/ the rockwork? add any new fish?
I suspect you stressed this fish, but i din't know how or when, and if yo added a new fish, it may have introduced somethin to the tank.
Sorry...
to rerad more on raising/breeding banggai card

Ok, this is getting me nowhere! I spelled it that way because that is how I have seen it spelled most often. No, I have not done anything different or added anything new. The fish was not breathing heavy or showing any signs of stress last night or this morning when I removed him to the QT tank. I am at this point, concidering deleting the whole topic. I have read tons on these fish and this is why I felt confident enough to get them. I only posted here because I have no idea what is going on!

no reason to stress.
Your fish had popeye. So you didn't do anything to the tank? then your fish got a damaged eye from a tankmate or by dashing into the rockwork. Just becuz you didn't see any other fish harassing the fish, doesn't mean they didn't do it. Many fish sleep some don't.
Here is a post from another board asking the same question. http://reefcentral.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=39b40569fab9f571f995dc72e26e03ae&threadid=75486

FM,
Thanks for trying to help. There is some confusion here, the fish's eye was not cloudy, just huge. I am stumped, honestly I do not think it was popeye, as from what I have read the cornea becomes cloudy and the eye swells. In this fish the eye was clear but twice the size of the other eye. It was eating right up to the night before it died and I always feed all of my fish food soaked in zoe. I do have a lyre tailed damsel that could have been harassing the guy, but I never witnessed this happening. As I posted before, my water tests are all very good and have remained this way for several months with scheduled maintance. For now, I am giving up on having a shoal or even a pair of Bangers, I can not stand the thought of doing in another without knowing what is happening.
