My 40 gallon (soon to be) reef is done cycling! Okay, so.....now what? What do I need to test for in a reef? It isn't going to be real fancy, just some mushrooms and polyps. What are considered "good" levels? Can anyone recommend a good reef test kit? Also, what do we add first, fish or corals? Or does it matter? Thank you! :joy:

I would go with a salifer test kit. I think that is the spelling. More expensive, but worth it. Before adding corals, you should add your clean up crew first, wait about a week, then slowly add 1 or 2 fish per week, and then I would add the corals. Do not want a big bio load all at once. Just take it slow and you should be fine.

need to test ammonia, nitrate, nitrate and ph. these r the most basic measurements. polyps and mushrooms r easy so u shouldnt hv a problem.

cool, thanks. that is what I am testing for in my FOWLR, but I wasn't sure if I needed to test for other stuff too...maybe that is just if I wanted other corals?...
