icecap wiring

has anyone found a pig tail with 18g wire inside? the only ones I could find were 16g. I have always heard that you never want to put smaller gauge after bigger (i.e. attaching a plug with 16g wires to the icecap wiring harness that has 18g wires.) Anyone with some insight? Is that 2g gap ok? What about has anyone ever made their own plug harness using 18G and attaching a plug to the end? thanks alot!

wiring is weird, but the 16 gauge is bigger than 18 g.the lower the num,the larger the wire.confusing

Scruz is 100% correct in 18ga < 16ga wire. There's no real problem though either way as long as the wire is rated for the voltage and amperage being carried you should be fine.
