What type of algae is this and is it good or bad, or is it a plant came on live rock.

Can you get a clearer pic? It almost looks to be some type of coral possibly.

Could be red slime or type of alage. is there any structure to it?

Yours looks stoney, but if your sure its an algae not a coral, check out some pics of Scinaia sp. This pic is one I found, does it look anything like yours?

That is what I thought too, I got a little Pocillipora hitchiker that looks kind of similar to that.

no it does not look like that. This is fuzzy or call it hairy looks like branches that is growing hair if that makes since.

Are the branches hard?? Like can you break them and if so, do they snap? What color is the inside?

they are very flexable ,did not break one it would fold in half with out breaking. The branches are a light tan color.
