Looks almost like a montipora spongodes but it could be some kind of hydenophora (sp?)

I agree - Hydnophora.

It does look like a Hydnophora but it also looks like horn coral to me, but i see no polyps? sorry the picture is not that great I'm at work and i only have pictures that are on my phone... this was taken 2 weeks ago

Horn Coral is the common name for Hydnophora sp.
