Calgary Flames backup goalie McLennan slashed Detroit Red Wings Johan Franzen across the torso during the Wings 5-1 victory in game 5. This earned McLennan a 5 game suspension, skipper Playfair a $25,000 fine & the Calgary Flames organization a $100,000 fine.
Johan Franzen scored the game winner in double overtime to knock the Flames out of the series.
