I am in the process of setting up a 75 gallon reef tank and need some help with coral selection. I am trying to find a wide varity of coral all different shapes, sizes, colors, etc. that will compliment each other. I am trying to make a list of the corals that I should get so I can plan my lighting around the corals rather than have to choose my corals to fit my lighting.
I would be very greatful for any photos or advise.
this is what I have so far in my 29g that I plan on moving to the 75:
Metallic green open brain coral
Frogspawn coral
Pipe Organ coral
I was thinking about getting:
Blue Acropora
Pink Birdsnest
Elegance coral
Candycane coral
Bubble coral
Blue Mushrooms
I would really apperciate any ideas or suggestions.
Thanks,
Jessica

I would be hesitant to add the acro and the birdsnest to the tank with all of the LPS and mushrooms on your list. These SPS corals have substantially different needs than LPS and mushrooms and you would have some difficulty providing flow for the SPS while not blowing the flesh off of the LPS or blowing the mushrooms away. Plus, the sweeper tenticles from the LPS corals would likely torment the SPS.
I'd also consider removing the elegance coral from your list. They have a pretty dismal record in captivity of late, even with the pros.
