pipefish question

I was at my dock today catching some ghost shrimp as a treat for my lion. I was surprised to pull my net up with a juvenile pipefish which I didnt know inhabited these waters. Its kinda brown a little wider in diameter than pencil lead and about 3 inches long. Its in a QT with LR and macro right now. My knowledge on these guys isnt that good but i can find no info on any east coast pipefish. Anyone know anyhting about them?

I just went down and looked, the pipefish isnt brown anymore, its black with a grey stripe down its back. Oh and it does eat frozen copepods, I put some in when acclimating and it loved them. Kinda odd I thought for a wild critter.

They are a species only type of fish. They can be put in with seahorses as they are similiar.
