plants for main tank

can anybody recommend some plants that i could put in the main tank.i tried feather caulerpa,mermaid fan,and my tang and fox face eat them like rabbits.i was thinking of trying halimeda plant. thanks in advance.

halimeda might work, but they may just eat it also.
Do you want the plants for looks or nutrient export?

i would like them for both.i have a 175 bow with some chaeto in my sump.i put them in plastic bags to keep them out of the filter.there is a energy saver lite on for 10 hrs.i am trying to keep from hanging a refugium on the tank.

Can you put chaeto in the main tank? I only have a 29 gal and I do not have a sump or a refug. Can I place some chaeto in a bag in my HOB bio wheel or in the part of my CPR Bak Pak that has the blue stringy stuff in it???
