Problem with Feather Duster

I introduced yesterday my 2nd feather duster in my 37 gal, this morning I saw the crown on the sand bed, does this mean the worm is dead?

your duster is propably fine. once when i moved my tank the same thing happened and in a week or two it grew back and now is bigger than ever.
