snails and crabs

I have a 125 gal tank how many snails/crabs or other cleaner crew items should I have?any insight into this would be appreciated!

i was told one per gallon but im not really maybe 50 snails and 50 crabs

There are some packages on this site that can give you a clue, but they span a wide range so it's hard to tell. I've heard 1 per 2 gallons. What i've been doing is buying about 5/10 crabs/snails each week or 2. I'll be doing this until everything seems clean. I like this approach because I am adding crabs and snails as my bioload grows so there will be a larger cleanup crew as it's needed. I would start out w/around 40 maybe and just slowly add more.

The Reef Package on this web site gives you a good template to work from... Plus you can't beat their prices. Personally I'm a huge advocate of Turbo and Astrea Snails since I've seen how well they clean LR, glass and the equiptment. I still want to pick up some Nassarious Snails since they primarily tend to the sand bed. The general rule of thumb is 1 per 2 gallons on the snails.
