Sump Questions

Hello.
I have a ton of Q-tip sponges in my sump, and a lot of pods. Some of the pods are about 1/2 inch in size! lol :scared:
My question is: Can I put some hermits, snails, etc in there to clean it up a little bit? I do not have any LR in there, however, I am considering taking some of the smaller peices out of the display tank and putting in the sump.
My concern is that the intake pipe for the return is about 1/2 inch fromt he bottom of the sump and I definately don't want a snail or hermit to get sucked up and killed and/or brake my pump.
Thoughts and advise please?

Sure can, throw em in there if you like. Add an intake screen to the return line.

If you put hermits in there, put small hermits like blue legged or scarlets. :happyfish
