unexpected snail

So my 75 is still cycling with trites at 5-7. I got a small bag of sand from my lfs tank. In it was a medium sized nassarius snail. It buried itself in the lfs sand FULL of s&^#, umm, I mean detritus, for the first day. Then he came right out in the front of the tank and buried himself in the detritus free sand there. He seems healthy and his probe or whatever is poking out of the sand and is the same color as when I introduced him.
Is my snail in danger due to the nitrites and lack of food in his area? I could dig him up and place in my 29g qt tank with clean water if necessary.

Most inverts will not tolerate high levels of nitrates. I personally would just leave him. Snails cost about $1 each so I wouldn't be to worried about it. Just wait and see what happens.
