Water change question...

When I do my water changes the newly mixed water does not have the levels that I am looking for in my tank. Since all salt mixes are low on something is it okay to dose whatever is short directly into the new water. That way it will match the take levels from the start.

what levels are not correct? remember, when you dose for one thing it is going to effect another. I add buffer to my change water to bring the PH up but havent paid attention as to what else it effects
