What kind of fish is this?

I have a fish that was given to me by a friend. There tank fell victims to ICK. It was brought to me in a fish bag looking very very sad. I put him in my Q tank and began the process of lowering the salinity this was on Saturday AM. Late Sunday he began to eat some frozen shrimp treated with garlic. I hope for the best but he's not out of the woods yet.
Anyway I am told it is an Angle fish, the back 3/4 is dark blue and the head is yellow. Its a very good looking fish and resalable active considering his situation. The fish is very small maybe 3" long.
If he pulls through my buddy told me I could keep him. I am concerned since I have two angles now but this one looks nothing like any of my others.

I agree with Johnny that it sounds like a Pygmy Angel. I have a fish exactly like you described. Here is my web page with his pictures. Let us know if this is the fish you have! http://www.geocities.com/coolsammy88

Most of my stuff I get at House of Tropical on west 50 or at Just about Fish. The people at Just about Fish are great and know their stuff. The nice people at House of Tropical are nice and know their stuff too, they also have a larger selection and on some things seem to have better prices but not always.

That’s my fish! He is doing much better now. I have begun the process of bring up the salinity and he is eating like a champ and very active. I think he may pull through this after all. I have talked with several people at the LFS and they suggest not putting him in with my other angles. After the close call he just went through I think I will allow him to live in the Q tank for the next month or so then put him up for adoption, why risk him getting stressed out and coming down with Ick again.

Your new acquisition sounds like a pygmy angel. We have one that fits that description.
Good Luck and I hope the little guy pulls through ;)

well after 5 1/2 weeks at 1.008 and then a 5 day process to bring up the salinity the little fish is 100% and doing well. I am going to hold him for another few weeks to be sure he is ok then he is up for adoption.
Any one in Cinci have a nice home for him?

Great that he is doing well. It's definately a bi-color dwarf angel. They are said to be sensitive but as you have found out they can be kept and even cured!
I've had two in seperate tanks for over two tears and their both doing real well.
Great job! Feel good!
