Where do I put a maxima clam?

I know low to med flow but do they prefer sandbed or rock? low, med, high in tank? I have 150w mh in a 34g solana, 20" tall and the light is 3-4" from the top of the tank...

in the wild, maxima clams r found among the rockwork.

i hear they like it better on the rocks..but i have mine on the sand bed and its doing great...

maximas and croceas are found naturally in rockwork. with 150w halides midway up and higher would be best. I've only found croceas to be indifferent to higher flow.

ok i moved it up in the rocks and it seems very happy, thanks for the info everyone!!!!
