Which tank to use UV sterilizer on?

I'm setting up my 125g again. In the past, I had the 15w AquaClear UV sterilizer on my main tank but now I'm thinking of putting it on the QT tank. The QT tank is a 30g tank. I've heard all different reasons for UV from ICH control, to algea control, to water clarity (not sure if it actually does that). Anyway, which tank would you guys and gals set up the UV on?

IMO they are kinda useless for a reef tank, the water needs a certain contact time in order to disrupt the cells of the passing items and most pumps push the water thru way to fast. For a QT tank they are useful. I have a huge one on my Koi pond as it really is effective at stopping algae, I've used them on ponds for years and it keeps the water clear, but for a reef tank I would spend the money on other equipment

Just answered my own question. Was cleaning up and dropped my sterilizer on the basement floor. Cracked right in half!@#$% Guess I'll be trying it without one.
