Wierd thing on live rock?!?!?!

Hello All,
I was wondering if this thing growing on my live rock is ok or if it is a bad thing. There is two of them and they are growing out of it, they almost look like fins or sails. They have a green/silver metallic look to them and both are about 1/2" by 1/2". Sorry that my pics aren't the clearest. Any help would be appreciated.

It's hard to tell from the picture but my first thought is the byssal thread of a Turkey Wing Clam. If so then it's not live and quite harmless.

I agree with Bang Guy. I have these on the florida rock I have. It is the part that the mussel/clam attaches itself to the rock. I sliced all of mine off with a razor blade. I think they are ugly...
