Will my Live sand stay alive?

Well, I am getting some good live sand, and I was wondering if it will stay alive in a 5gallon bucket, with a 13 watt pc ligting and some saltwater in there, and a powerhead? will it survive? I am waiting for about a month for my friend to help me build my refugium. Just want to know if the live sand will survive?

it doesnt need lighting. but as long as you have a current in there and you keep feeding the bucket with fish food and such then yes, it will remain live.

so like add a little bit of brime shrimp? and would the lighting promote the growth of the living things in the sand?

yes it should and pluse having some flow in the bucket helps keep the water moving as well!!!!Its just like cycle a tank..
